I got caught up in a post I was reading on LinkedIn the other day. It had a great hook and told a good story. By the time I got to the end I was ready to answer its CTA. But then, my momentum got totally derailed. The post read “Link in bio.”
Link in bio? There’s no “link in bio” on LinkedIn! (With apologies to Tom Hanks and Penny Marshall.)
That post I was reading is an example of content posting, not content repurposing.
Very little effort went into that post. It might have seemed like an efficient tactic. But for this reader it was a record scratch. I wasn’t able to follow through on what were asking me to do. So I simply wandered away.
Have you ever gotten excited by something you’ve read online only to hit a dead end because the CTA was clearly for a different platform? What did you do?
